A free-form open roundtable discussion. By approaching the subject of sync through conversations, instead of the more traditional radio format, we hope to encourage insights or 'ahas' to occur more readily, both in ourselves as well as in the listener. Through the casual interactive nature of Always Record, the listener is invited to be a part of the ongoing conversation.

03.22.17 Always Record 173 | Urphanomen, Rhizome, Acorn to Oak w/

Wally Scharold

Alan: I feel like the choice to focus on my work again has initiated major changes in my life Wally: it's so funny you would say this. Seriously, I have so much to say about how that simple notion is deeply meaningful in the realm of sync. Seriously we should talk about that, could make for an interesting AR if you'd be up for that. But I'm totally on the same page right now. I really think simple choices like committing to the necessary efforts to realize your ambitions, especially if those ambitions involve sync and interconnectedness and what not, literally amplifies the tendency for positive syncs to just start flowing -- the challenge is to not let them cause you to revert to other appetites/desires that bring back into a funk. I myself am only just barely digging myself out of it... still in progress. "He was concerned with the correlation between a street scene, a speculation on the stock exchange, a poem, a thought, with the hidden line which holds them together and enables the historian or philologist to recognize that they must all be placed in the same period. When Adorno criticized Benjamin's 'wide-eyed presentation of actualities,' he hit the nail right on its head; this is precisely what Benjamin was doing and wanted to do. Strongly influenced by surrealism, it was the 'attempt to capture the portrait of history in the most insignificant representations of reality, its scraps, as it were.'"
